OUR HISTORY

Bon Vino’s Bistro & Bakery is owned and operated by two long-time valley residents, who come to you with over 25 years of experience. Together, Roger Hazzard and Joreen Bruinsma have combined their talents to bring you the valley finest in culinary cuisine. Established in 2006, Bon Vino’s has provided quality, upscale American cuisine. From simple hors d’oeuvre to elegant European pastries, our secret ingredient is love in every bite.

OUR OWNERS

Roger

For over 35 years, I have passionately worked in the food industry. I was first introduced to the culinary industry at the Town Plaza hotel where I worked banquets and bartended, from there the seed of passion of culinary arts grew. I later became a flambé cook while waiting tables. From then on, my eye has always been on food, whether this be performing table side dinners or prepping for upcoming events. In 2006, my dream came true. I opened my first restaurant, Bon Vino’s bistro and bakery along with Joreen Bruinsma. At Bon Vino’s we provide high quality service and exceptional food.

Joreen

I grew up in Sunnyside, WA since I was 5 years old. Growing up with Dutch immigrant parents gave me the opportunity to experience European pastries. After finding my love for baking during my high school years, I went on to fulfill my dream by attending Skagit Valley College for a degree in culinary Arts and Hospitality. During the next few years I studied and did internships in Bakery in the Netherlands and Canada. In 2006, I achieved my goal by opening up a restaurant called Bon Vino’s with long time resident Roger Hazzard, together, Bon Vino’s has created good friends, good food and good times.
